Byron Bay
De même que pour Brisbane, je me suis arrêtée à différent endroit sur le chemin pour casser un peu le rythme.
Ayant entendu parler à nombreuses reprises de Byron Bay, je me suis dis que ça serait intéressant d'aller y faire un tour.

Pour être honnête je n'ai pas trouvé Byron Bay plus sympa que ça. Il y a beaucoup de magasins à touristes dans la ville même, le temps n'était pas forcément au rendez-vous non plus, mais je n'ai tout simplement pas trouvé que c'était une ville plus formidable que ça.
Un des points positifs est que j'ai vu plusieurs dauphins dans la mer :)

"To be honest I didn't find Byron Bay that amazing. There are a lot of tourists shops in town, the weather wasn't that great either, but I simply didn't find this town more incredible than this.
One positive point is that I saw several dolphins in the sea :)

Je me suis arrêtée à "The Big Banana". Juste un petit musée et parc de jeux pour enfants autour de la banane.

Port Macquarie
Le moment le plus sympa sur ce trajet, a été lorsque j'ai décidé de m'arrêter à Port Macquarie, sans autre raison que de vouloir me restaurer.
J'ai choisi le restaurant qui été recommandé sur internet, et me voilà avec mon repas!
"The most pleasant moment that I had on this trip, was when I randomly decided to stop at Port Macquarie because I was hungry.
I chose my restaurant from what internet was suggesting, and here I was with my lunch!"
Le repas n'est pas ce qui est le plus important dans l'histoire, c'est ce qui suit.
Je finissais presque mon repas, lorsque je vois un homme se dirigeant vers la caisse pour payer. Je comprends directement que ce cher monsieur est français et qu'il a du mal a s'exprimer. Je l'aide donc de ma chaise (oui j'étais pas loin de la caisse), et retourne à mes pensées.
Lorsque je me lève pour aller moi aussi payer, le monsieur du début et ce qui s'avère être son compagnon, s'approchent de moi pour me parler.
On échange quelques banalités, avant qu'ils ne me demandent comment se rendre à l'hôpital des koalas. Intéressée, je leur demande ce que c'est, et où ça se trouve. Et il s'avère que ce n'était qu'à 5min en voiture du restaurant! De plus ils m'expliquent que c'est hôpital bénévole et que tout le monde peut venir y faire un tour.
Du coup je leur propose de les conduire là bas, et de venir visiter avec eux.
Et c'est comme ça que j'ai visité l'hôpital des koalas à Port Macquarie!
"The meal is not what is most important in the story, it is the following.
I was almost finishing my meal, when I see a man heading to the cashier to pay. I understand directly that this dear sir is French and he has trouble expressing himself in english. I therefore help him from my chair (yes I was not far from the cashier), and returns to my thoughts.
When I get up to go to pay, the gentleman from the beginning and what appears to be his companion, approach me and talk to me.
We exchange some small talk before they ask me the way for the koala's hospital. Interested, I ask them what it is and where it is. And it turns out that it was only 5min drive from the restaurant! Also they explain that it is a voluntary hospital and everyone can come and have a look.
So I propose to drive them there, and to come and visit with them.
And that's how I visited the koala's hospital in Port Macquarie!"
Cet hôpital vient en aide aux koalas blessés et essai de les soigner autant que cela est possible. - "This hospital rescue wounded koalas and try to heal them as much as they can."
A la fin de la visite, je propose à mes deux compères de les ramener en ville avant de reprendre ma route vers Sydney.
C'est toujours amusant et touchant de voir comme les gens sont surpris (surtout les européens) lorsque quelqu'un fait quelque chose pour eux sans rien demander en échange, juste pour le plaisir d'aider.
Bref une fois que je les ai déposé, ils m'ont offert un petit koalas clip (qui s'accroche) fait main.
J'ai trouvé ça très gentil, et du coup il m'a accompagné au coin de mon rétro-viseur :)
"At the end of the tour, I offer my two new companions to drive them back in town, before going on the road again for Sydney.
It is always kind of funny and touching to see how people (mostly european) can be surprised by the generosity of others.
Anyway, once I dropped them in town, they offered me a koala clip hand made.
I found that very nice and sweet, and so it accompanied me on my rear-mirror :)"
